Chris’s Peach Cobbler – Summer Fun!

Summer is almost over… so it is the perfect time to make a cobbler with fresh fruit that is in season. A favorite in the Von Der Ahe household is Chris’ famous peach cobbler!

Chris making his delicious cobbler at the beach!

Chris has shared his cobbler with many family and friends over the years. One of his favorite stories to tell about his cobbler is when he went to the Hollywood Bowl with his family for a concert. A man in the next box eyed the cobbler and asked what he had to do for one of the individual cobblers a la mode!

Wouldn’t you like a piece too? :)

Chris immediately recognized the man as a former owner of the Kings and joked “Some tickets to a Kings game” as he handed over a cobbler. The man ate every last bite and did not share with anyone in his box. Later he sent great tickets to the Kings game…score!

A warm piece of cobbler served with vanilla ice cream…love to serve it in vintage bowls.

While I can’t promise the same results I can ensure that this dessert will make everyone in your family smile and is a wonderful way to enjoy the flavors of summer! Tips…use peaches that have ripened outside the fridge…add a few drops of fresh lemon when you toss the peaches with sugar…use lots of topping…always make too much…finish it all while it’s warm.
