Personalized Art Work To Decorate Your Home
Nothing like a piece of art personalized to the person for a big present! Commission a piece to reflect something important in a person’s life like their business, school, family, or house. Or commission a piece that reflects something unique about the receiver of the gift such as a passion, talent, or accomplishment. Galleries who really work with their clients and artists alike are the perfect place to get ideas about which artist for a specific project.
For my husband, who’s family started Von’s grocery stores, I took an old photo he had bought of an original Vons store and worked with Karen and Kevin, owners of Tirage Gallery (www.tirageart.com) in Pasadena, to commission Michael Ward (www.tmichaelward.com) for the painting below. What a way to commemorate a birthday – my husband loves it!
For my daughter who is blind, I worked with Terzian Galleries (www.Terziangalleries.com) in Park City to commission a metal hanging sculpture by Anthony Hansen (www.anthonyhansen.com). The artist usually carves sayings into his metal hearts made from antique auto scraps and license plates. Per my suggestion, Anthony used nail heads to Braille the words “love life” – perfect for my daughter to feel and take pride in having it in her room!
